Is Going Green The Sole Solution For Our Environmental Crisis?

The environmental crisis we're having today is chiefly caused by human beings. There are two primary opinions, the one being that it's because of the ignorance of the people, the other that we've been hoodwinked by major corporations. Either way, average folks do a great deal of squandering, and misusing of natural resources. So what can the masses do when they are at the mercy of what the powers that be put on them? Even though much of the ecological balance has been impacted by global warming, the impact on the ecology can be minimized by people by taking certain options.

By adopting some of the green movement's ideas, much progress can be made. There is no plausible solution for the ills of the environment other than living green. We cannot totally undo what's already been done, but we can stop the crisis from developing further and perhaps reverse some of the damage. If the masses adopt the use of earth-friendly products and green ways of doing things, they can stop the environmental situation from deteriorating further. There are several things that are needed for making the planet greener and cleaner also.

The list includes recycling of green waste, avoiding meat, buying locally grown food and discarding the old "use it, throw it away" outlook. Virtually everyone could do all of those things by just making the choice to do them. Wiser and less wasteful consumption of electricity and water are needed if the ecological balance is to be recovered. The most important component causing the ecological fix we're in is the considerable amounts of CO2 gas that have been spewed into the atmosphere. The situation is aggravated by the current proliferation of mechanized means of production, in manufacturing plants and on farms, all dependent on fuel or electrical energy and adding to the carbon emissions problem.

Because of this crisis, there are deficits in both food and water, severe atmospheric conditions, and also other natural disasters. All the signals point to a worsening situation, necessitating aggressive intervention to halt the decay. Getting the masses to carry out green living practices is one of the more powerful alternatives available to us. The emphasis needs to shift to swaying the masses that their individual contributions, even if in little ways, will make an impact and are essential components of success on a bigger scale. The media has a critical role to play in making people aware of the importance of taking on green lifestyles, even if only in modest measures.

This might actually be the last feasible option open to us, so people genuinely should step up to the challenge of making their lifestyle decisions more responsibly. Without considerably raising our environmental awareness, the decline towards eventual ruin looks inescapable. If men and women are not willing to face facts and do their part in saving the environment, how much time does the world have? If things continue like they have for the last generation, is there any hope at all for the future generation?
